The wind crisps cold above, while the grass edges spring beneath.
I squint into the sun, my family, this moment.
They wrap their less-pudgy-by-the-day fingers around the thinnest of kite strings and crane their necks, unwilling to miss a single Up High beat.
I’m here, of course I am, but my mind swirls with OtherThings.
I fight the urge to give in, to not get sucked into my mental and handwritten and typed to-do lists, but they’re there.
Because I wrote them.
I overdraw on my energy EverySingleDay because I’m (almost) completely incapable of saying, “no.”
Do you have this problem? What do you do about it?
It would mean the world to me if you’d join in the discussion at the lovely Jessica’s place, The Spit Up Chronicles.
My backbone needs you. See you there!
