  2. Sherri says:

I am not sure which one shocks me more…that you won a dance contest OR that you had a nine hour phone conversation?!

    Love this, my friend!

    xoxo

  3. Kimberly says:

Cow tongue?? That won’t be on my list. Ever. ;)

  4. Steve says:

Reading that just makes me feel plain good! Thanks!

  5. Erin says:

I have never been to Mardi Gras and always wanted to go.
Tongue? Really? Was it good? I’ve eaten a lot of stuff but that is one thing I can’t bring myself to eat, but a lot say it’s really good!

  6. Frelle says:

I have only had a 6 hour long phone conversation.. way to go, Galit!!! :) Great list!

  7. Jessica says:

Okay, so I’m wondering if your battery died during your nine hour phone call but then I realized that not every phone call is done on cell phones. Can you tell how much I love my iPhone?

  8. That’s a great list of 22 items… I too have questioned faith and am still questioning it..hopefully I’ll be able to find more peace with my choice.

  9. Hi…visiting from Mama Kat’s. What a great list…it made me smile…as well as the photos.

  10. Galit, I loved this list.
I actually got a rush of goosebumps… and yet there were few words used!
    LOVED IT.
Feel like we have a lot in common, especially the “am I cut out for this mothering gig” “pushed people away” “questioned faith” “asked for help and humbled when received it”

    Right there.
It think thats when the goosbumps rushed in.
    Thanks galit!
    Beautiful.

  11. Stasha says:

Most of what you have done I never have. What a fab list! What was your winning dance?

  12. Krista says:

Sounds wonderful. And amazing. (except the cow tongue. that sounds gross!)

    Fantastic list, lady. Fantastic life.

  13. Great list – I snuck out to meet a boy also and my parents locked that window and double locked all doors and I had to spend the night on the front porch. lol

  14. Kristen says:

We seriously need to hang out! You sound like a lot of fun. We’ll just need to skip the cow tongue though. I want to keep that on the 22 things I have never done list ;-)

    Great post!

  15. angela says:

I want to hang out with you in person :)

Without the cow tongue. Please :) xoxo

  16. Mrs. Weber says:

Sounds like some super fun adventures, Galit! Great learning a bit more about you. And a 9 hour phone convo? WHHHHAAAA? Must have been when you were dating the hubby and all in lurve?? ;)

  17. What a great list! I love the photos. Hiking across a volcano sounds really cool!

  18. Sue Campbell says:

Can’t wait to see the list when you’re 70. Or, wait, yes, yes I can. But I bet it will be great.

  19. Shell says:

    9 hour phone conversation? Wow!

I hide from scary movies- even the previews. I put my hands over my ears and sing lalala.

  20. John says:

I’ve traveled, but never alone, internationally, except on business (which totally doesn’t count).

I’ve skinny-dipped in the Atlantic during the sunrise. I’m not a religious person — but that might have been the closest I’ve ever felt to g-d (especially since it was so cold that, well, there are times that you scream “oh g-d” outside of the throes of ecstasy).

  21. Kir says:

for all the things you’ve done and for all the things you haven’t I ADORE you.

    was the 9 hr conversation with a boy…because I think I got close to 5 hours…;)

you’re so amazing in so many ways…what a beautiful life you’ve lived. :)

  22. You have had a nine hour phone call?
    Shudder…

    :-)

    Love your list, lady.
The sign of a life well lived already in just 35 years.

Can’t wait to see what you do with the next seventy…

    XO

  23. Nenette says:

13, 14, 15 — totally with you on those, sistah!
Love your list… and your gorgeous pictures.

  24. It’s a little frightening how many of these things I’ve also done – including cow tongue. Maybe that explains why I haven’t eaten red meat in almost 20 years.

  25. Galit, what an amazing list of things you’ve done!! I love the variety….from running through stranger’s sprinklers to hiking across volcanoes, eating cow tongue (ewww). Love it!! And your pictures are just gorgeous!
    XOXO

  26. Venus says:

Lovely as always. And I’m so happy to know you’re a dancing queen!!! :-) If I didn’t have to go be all responsible and work right now, I’d work on my own list. Unfortunately, it’s going to have to wait. ;-)

  27. Elaine says:

I just love what a cool mix of stuff you’ve done this list is. Some “big” things and some things that are just so sweet and pure.

And a dance contest winner? That’s awesome! I’m impressed.

I need to do this too…

  28. “Run through a stranger’s sprinkler” just cracks me up. Great post…you’ve got me thinking!

  29. Tonya says:

You my friend are awesome. I love the honesty! Who was the nine hour phone call with? I’m guessing BFF or hubby?

  30. Leigh Ann says:

9 hour phone call?!?!?! I can’t stand to be on the phone for 9 minutes.

I think we’ve ALL questioned if we’re cut out for this mothering gig at least once…awesome list Galit!

  31. I love that you celebrate the rockin’ awesome dance contest win to the explosive (well, hopefully not!) hike across a volcano to the simpler, soul warming nine hour phone call. You rock! :>

  32. Leighann says:

I’d forgotten about those 9 hr phone calls. The never wanting to hang up. The stillness and being grateful to just hear a voice on the other end.
    Awww love.

  33. Babaloo says:

Mmmm… lengua tacos. I think I’ve also tried cow brain. Love your list!

  34. Elena says:

Great list! That is probably the longest phone call I’ve ever heard of! ;)

  35. How exactly does one hike across a volcano? I don’t know if cow tongue is anything like pigeon – would you try it again? Great list!

  36. blueviolet says:

Someone would have to pay me to talk on the phone for 9 hours straight! And they’d have to threaten my life to get me to eat cow tongue. Volcano hiking? That I’d do for free.

I can’t wait to meet you. You’re so fabulous.

  37. Barbara says:

What a great list!! Who did you talk to for 9 hours?

  38. christina says:

did you like the cow tongue? i can’t imagine. :)

  39. Dumb Mom says:

9 hours?! How does that even happen?!

  40. I now have an overwhelming urge to walk around a volcano.

  41. Galit, I love this list. The combination of crazy (cow tongue? Ewww!!!), deep (questioning your faith, your ability to mother), and zest for life (sprinklers and moonlight swimming) make for a wonderful picture of you.

  42. MJ says:

Awesome list! Nine hours on the phone? How did your ear feel afterwards? I think my record is only 3 hours, and that seems a lifetime ago.

  43. Sounds like a wonderful list! What a full and happy life you’ve led so far!

  44. Suniverse says:

I love this list – you are a well-rounded individual. And daring – cow tongue? BLECH.

  45. What a fabulous list. I love that you admit to having questioned the whole motherhood thing. I do too. But try to stick to my motto “Keep calm and Carry on” Besides I don’t think they’re taking returns on these guys anyway! :)

  46. Oh, love! In just 22 things, such a full and gorgeous picture of how you approach life. But then, I expected nothing less.

  47. Gayletrini says:

    cow tongue?! really
    9hrs that long wow.
    Lovely list

  48. Love. You are so cut out for this mothering gig…but the cow tongue? That’s shocking. xo

  49. Mama Mary says:

I love this. Such a great way to get a quick snap shot of you and your life. So jealous of Mardi Gras and the volcano. I can tell you’re adventurous and that you love life. Must be why I love you so.

  50. Jack says:

Tongue- my grandma used to make tongue sandwiches for us. I loved them.

  51. We have #16, #19 and #20 in common, but I didn’t do #21!

  52. Kimberly says:

    Cow tongue eh?
I would love to sleep on the beach just once!
    I also question my mothering…sigh.
Love this list and I want to know who you talked on the phone to for 9 hours.

  53. Who knew, adventure girl! I have read and commented on so many of these, how did I not comment on yours yet? These have all been so great! Such a simple prompt and yet one of my all time favorites.

  54. Love this list – hiking across a volcano sounds right up my alley! Seriously! Wanna bungee jump together sometime?

  55. Ha – “snuck out to meet a boy” made me smile – seemed like a long time ago after marriage, and seems another bazillion years ago after kids! :-)

  56. All awesome, except that whole cow tongue thing. Ew!

  57. This is such a great list! I have never snuck out of the house to meet a boy, but I wish I had. I have, however wondered, quite frequently, whether or not I’m actually cut out for this mothering gig. Glad to hear I’m in such good company.

  58. Amanda says:

Ahhh, the days of hours long phone conversations… though I can’t say I ever got up to NINE. That’s some feat!

I can also relate to #15 – it comes free with your Mom Club membership, I’m afraid.

  59. Julia says:

This list made me smile. Love the one about sneaking out to meet a boy.

  60. melissa says:

    love.

  61. Not a bad list at all….especially for your young age. I love that you have traveled internationally. Traveling to Europe, Turkey and Greece holds very special memories for me. I think everyone should see some of the world at some point in their lives.

  62. oh yes you have! lived!

  63. Donna Brown says:

I love your list! I have eaten cow’s tongue. Sliced thin it’s like roast beef. I have also eaten rabbit liver. I believe it tastes much better than chicken livers. Much sweeter. I have not been in many countries other than my own by I have been in the neighboring ones. This has gotten me to thinking. I really need to start my own list!

  64. Cow tongue – ack! I remember my mother showing me that at a farmer’s market once and told me they had it all the time growing up, in stew. I gagged.

Whether you believe it or not, I’ve NEVER sneaked out of the house to see a boy.
    ME. Never.
    Seriously!
    Hahahaha.

  65. Great list! I’ve won dance contests too! Traveling alone internationally is impressive I think!

  66. Gretchen says:

I’ve done many things. Including the cow tongue (my strange mother used to actually give me cow tongue sandwiches in my lunchbox), but I have never had a 9 hour phone conversation. I’d love to hear the story behind that!

  67. Nine hours on the phone! Wow. That must be a record, lol!

  68. Lady Jennie says:

I want to do this list too – it’s fun. Nine hours on the phone? I rush off the minute I can. I’ve eaten cow tongue too. (trying to forget what it was)

  69. Wow! What an impressive, comprehensive list. I, sadly, embarassingly, have also been to Mrdi Gras but I’m sure you conducted yourself in a much classier manner than I. Thank goodness when I was 19, there was no such thing as youtube or digital photos. I’m impressed with the 9 hour phone convo, I’m pretty sure I would have eithe fallen asleep at least once or gotten an ear infection. Kudos for your bravery!

  70. Cow tongue, really? There must be a story behind that! :)

  71. Jamie says:

I used to hide from scenes in scary movies but now I refuse to watch them altogether. :)

I’m impressed that you won a dance contest!!

  72. Jen P says:

    Love this glimpse of you!

    I think you should add 14 more things… 35 for 35!

  73. tulpen says:

    I love lists.

    But not cow tongue.

    No freaking way.

  74. Sarah says:

What a fun kind of list to make. Especially if you consider all the other lists I’m accustomed to: the grocery list, the errand list, the calendar appointments list. Oh! And what about that list that’s always running: all the things you should be doing BETTER as a mom…Ahh!

  75. What fun! I think the thing I most want to do myself in that list is travel internationally alone. And not just go to Canada or Mexico. I want to go to Ireland. Abandon my family and …. yeah that fantasy ended just as it began. I can’t even imagine what I’d do there without at least my husband. (Though I can think of some serious for for the two of us without our delightful urchins)!

  76. Wow, hiked across a volcano? That sounds amazing. I biked down one once in Hawaii, and the memory will last forever. It’s always refreshing to hear another mom say they’ve questioned motherhood, makes it seem more normal and natural. I’m sure everyone does it, even though many would never admit it. Thanks for letting me know I’m not alone.

  77. Tracie says:

I love this list. You have done some pretty cool things. Sleeping on the beach is one of the things I have done…and it is amazing!

  78. I read this last week but I don’t think I commented. This list makes me love you.

  79. Shanna says:

9 hours on the phone? to one person??? seriously? You must have really had a lot to talk about.

I think you should also include on this list that you and Jason have read books to each other….. didn’t you read harry potter to each other? amazing….
